I got a Nike soccer ball that I always wanted for Christmas. It was as white as paper and had green stripes that made it even more luxurious. It was perfectly round compared to rugby ball. And it felt so soft when I kicked it like it was made of cotton.

It was a hot and sunny evening and the sun was shining like never before. I just couldn’t wait to get onto the field and spend time with it. I put on my shiny boots and gear, we were ready into the war. My leg was stuck to the ball and started dribbling it for a while. The ball bounced like a spring. Afterwards, a short game started, and I got to play my favourite position which is striker. After a while, I had a chance to score but missed by so much that I ended up falling onto the ground. No surprise this happened before. And I straightened up and continued chasing the ball. We had some good passing on the second half and without realising I’m in the penalty box with the ball in front of me again. I had to make a crucial decision in these split seconds. Finally, I took a hard straight shot right on the spot and the ball flew off straight into the net. My first score, which helped our team win the game.

And keep practising day and night, now I can score easily with my eyes closed. It feels good to be playing a part of the team and making decisions that will change the outcome. Most of all, I gained valuable skills and learned new tricks, but the thing that always remains in my mind is the first score.
